Mis hijos no paran de hablar, no callan ni debajo del agua.

 

Como agua de mayo: like a breath of fresh air (eagerly)

No dar (un) palo al agua: not lift a finger, never do a stroke of work.

 

He doesn’t like studying. He doesn’t lift a finger (he never does a stroke of work) at school, he’s very lazy.

A él no le gusta estudiar. No da (un) palo al agua en la escuela, es muy vago.

 

 

Also, there is a verb derived from “agua”:

 

Aguar la fiesta a alguien: To spoil somebody’s fun.

 

Siempre hay un invitado que agua la fiesta a todos.
