Regular tú commands.

Regular affirmative commands: Regular affirmative command is formed by the third-person singular (indicative) conjugated form, as follows:

Hablas. You speak. ¡Habla! Speak!

Comes. You eat. ¡Come! Eat!

Vives. You live. ¡Vive! Live!

Regular negative commands: Regular negative command is formed by second-person singular subjunctive form.

!No hables! Don’t speak!

!No vendas la casa! Don’t sell the house!

!No abras la puerta! Don't open the door!

Irregular tú commands.

There are very few verbs that have irregular commands in the tú form. Here are some of the frequently used irregular affirmative tú command forms:

INFINITIVE AFFIRMATIVE NEGATIVE decir di no digas hacer haz no hagas ir ve no vayas poner sal no salgas ser sé no seas tener ten no tengas venir ven no vengas

DECIR:

Tell the truth! ¡Di la verdad!

Don’t tell the truth! ¡No digas la verdad!

HACER:

Make the bed. Haz la cama

Don’t make the bed. No hagas la cama.

IR:

Go to the kitchen! ¡Ve a la cocina!

Don’t go to the kitchen! ¡No vayas a la cocina!

PONER:

Put the book here. Pon el libro aquí

Don’t put the book here. No pongas el libro aquí.

SALIR:

Leave now! ¡Sal ahora!

Don’t leave now! ¡No salgas ahora!

SER:

Be kind! ¡amable!

Don’t be kind! ¡No seas amable!

TENER:

Have the keys, I always lose them. Ten las llaves, yo siempre las pierdo.

Don't have the keys in your hand or you will lose them. No tengas las llaves en la mano o las perderás.

VENIR:

Come here immediately! ¡Ven aquí inmediatamente!

Don’t come here! ¡No vengas aquí!
